Macro Val Hosted Events

Val hosts several events that are great opportunities to find out more about maintaining a healthier lifestyle while having some fun.

In either April or May, Val's Spring Fling is a mini health fair that includes not only Val's delicious food but also lectures on various health topics, unique products like all natural soap and handmade jewelry, and practitioners of reflexology, reiki, and more.

In August, Val hosts her annual Picnic In The Park. This event is held in Hines Park and includes a water balloon toss with squirt guns added for fun! A volley ball net is set up and guests are encouraged to bring frisbees or other outdoor activities. And of course, there is plenty of delicious food on hand. Val prepares several dishes and desserts, guests are encouraged to bring a dish to share (meat free, dairy free, wheat free please).

In November, Val offers a Healthy Thanksgiving Diner. You can enjoy healthy versions of traditional dishes like Millet Mashed Potatoes with Onion Gravy, homemade Cranberry Sauce, guilt-free Pumpkin Pie, and Tofu Turkey*.

In December, join in the spirit of the season at Macro Val's Annual Potluck Christmas Party. Every year for the last 10 years Val has held her Christmas Potluck Party. It is a fun filled evening with delicious wonderful food. Enjoy Val's outrageously delicious desserts made with brown rice syrup instead of sugar. Bring a vegan, macrobiotic main course dish to share (please make it vegan (no animal products), and healthy (no refined white flour or white rice). Also no tomatoes, peppers or white potatoes).

*"Val's Tofu Turkey is wonderful. I have heard horror stories from vegetarians about tofu turkey but Val's students have told me hers is different, it actually tastes good! I am not a vegan or macrobiotic yet I enjoy eating this healthy alternative to traditional turkey." -- Val's sister, Laura
